Typical speed limits are:

  • 20 mph through towns and settlements.
  • 40 mph on highways and designated open roads.

Reduce your speed when conditions require it and always follow the posted limit.

Roads and Navigation

Most main roads in Providenciales are paved. Some secondary, rural and beach access roads may be uneven or unpaved.

  • Use a navigation app or download an offline map.
  • Allow extra time when travelling to an unfamiliar area.
  • Slow down on uneven or unpaved roads.
  • Take additional care after dark where road lighting is limited.

Drive Safely

  • Wear your seat belt and ensure passengers are secured.
  • Watch carefully for pedestrians, cyclists and other road users.
  • Leave enough distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead.
  • Do not drive while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
  • Contact the rental team promptly if the vehicle is damaged or involved in an incident.

Fuel stations are available in Providenciales, but options may be more limited outside the main developed areas.

Check the fuel level before travelling to a remote location and confirm the rental vehicle's return fuel requirement.
